For most of you (depending on when your reading this) are stuck #LondonLockdown indoors! Nevertheless, the show must go on, and I promise I won’t talk about the ‘C’ word in this blog, just fill you with positive vibes.

Time to wrap up the 1st quarter of 2020, and review it all! Again, the purpose of this series is really for me to soak in the past few months. It’s for my own well-being and self-reflection.

Before I start the review, I wish to say we are all living in weird times right now, sending love and prays to anyone who needs it. Remember, this will pass.

I’m have been using this time (indoors) doing a deep spiritual cleanse. I started praying again, removed all bad energy (including people) around me, and I’m trying to learn how to bake! Anyways, let’s begin the twitter highlights now.

January

I mainly wished everyone a ‘happy new year’ in every email until the very last day — please clap (below) if this was you too!!

At Tech Nation, we just opened the Cyber 2.0 programme call-out process, and we hosted the cyber breakfast launch event for investors and share some insightful data around cybersecurity.

There were so many events happening throughout January, and I know it can get very intimidating going to new places. Below I shared my best practices on how to network.

February

I had a great time on the Associated Podcast. I spoke about my previous tech career and how I pivoted into my current role, angel investing and working with scale-ups as a programme manager. Also, I talked about why there are few women in technical tech roles in the UK, and if you are an early-stage founder, should you care about technical debt right now in your tech-based product?

Technical Debt is a concept in software development that reflects the implied cost of additional rework caused by choosing an easy solution now instead of using a better approach that would take longer.

Had a great time at Tech Nation Rising Stars Grand Final, watching the top 20 companies pitch to a high profile panel and audience to be selected as one of the 10 Rising Stars 2020.

I had the opportunity to join the Nesta CareerTech Prize Judging panel and help select 20 companies to receive £50,000 grant and support.

March

I had the opportunity to join an investor panel, and I demystify why businesses accept venture capital, sharing alternative funding routes, and more.

Share my thoughts on how the global health and economic crisis affects the very early-stage underrepresented founders who I work closely within the UK. And, why I believe they will be the ones who will be most responsive to change and the ones to watch!

“It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent. It is the one that is most adaptable to change.” Charles Darwin
